GRIDLEY, Ill. 鈥� One person was transported to a local hospital in stable condition after being rescued from a grain bin Thursday in rural Gridley.
According to a Facebook post from the Gridley Fire Department, emergency services were called just after noon on Thursday to 10168 N. 600 East Road in Livingston County, where someone had fallen up to their shoulders in a silo filled with corn.
Teams from Gridley Fire, Normal Technical Rescue, Pontiac, Chenoa and Flanagan fire were also called to the scene, as well as two additional technical rescue teams.
Emergency personnel used nine 鈥渟ets of grain rescue tubes to stabilize the corn during rescue efforts,鈥� the post read.
The patient was finally removed just before 8 p.m. when they were transported to a local hospital.
